What is Acupressure?

By Paul

Acupressure is an age-old Chinese technique. It involves the use of pressure of the fingers on a particular point on the body. Acupressure uses the same principle as acupuncture, but in acupuncture needles are used while in acupressure fingers are used to release the blocked energy centers. Acupressure activates the body's own energy to fight against the body's ailments.

While pressure is put in the body it helps in removing the blocks and creates energy. Acupressure is almost like traditional massage, but specific points are massaged in a circular motion. The massage is done through rubbing, vibration etc for 5-10 minutes. Acupressure is a very powerful technique and most of the ailments are relieved by it. Acupressure promotes calmness and relaxes the body. Dont apply too much pressure during treatment. The healing process through Acupressure is quite quick and you can feel the energy flow in a matter of few minutes. The pressure applied on a certain position helps in removing the toxins and makes the blood flow smoothly. Unlike acupuncture, there are no needles used in acupressure. A person himself can perform acupressure and no other equipments are required. Acupressure can be learnt from an experienced practitioner and as such there are no side effects to it. If acupressure is performed in the right way it could prove to be very beneficial. Blood circulation improves and the immune system gets strengthened and promotes a healthy body, mind and soul.
